HURRY U.P. - PART 2

Andy Kessler - 13-Apr-2021
A blog a day keeps the doctor away... Not really for me hopefully for you. I am very close to get nuts...

When I started to write this blog, I thought you know what, let's just copy the Hurry-U.P. blog from last December when we introduced the grey U.P. I am so fed up to tell you always the same thing.... We have not enough be quick bla bla bla...

So I keep it short we are introducing a new additional color for the U.P.  I hate to mix bicycles and cars... I basically love old cars but  more like in the sense of a nice picture that you hang on your wall... I don't like to drive them at least here in Switzerland. Here driving a car makes no sense and riding a bicycle is so much more fun..

The inspiration came from a  real cool classic car:

Yes its an Aston Martin but thats not important. It is about the name of the color: California Sage. California sagebrush, is a species of western North American shrubs in the sunflower family. What a name today you have all those artificial marketing names but California Sage.... it keeps me dreaming about beaches, flowers and the smell of the ocean...

We call our U.P. the "sage" and thats how it looks:

You can oder it here on our webshop or if you are lucky trough one of our OPEN partner. As mentioned we just have a couple of them....

Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures, it looks much better in reality. But we could not wait for Marc our photographer coming to the office this time...  we had to hurry U.P.

California Sage: That took me back to Detroit to Sagebrush Shorty, a Kid's TV show. Then Aston Martin took me back to James Bond "Goldfinger". Then it took me to Newport Beach California.

Vintage car colours. That is what I went on the hunt for painting the rtp wide. I am a Volvo person and was looking for a turquoise from the 60s. Not in Volvo. But Fiat yes. So the WI DE is Farfalle Blue. A butterfly and a beautiful color from the 70s. Italians know color. Cali Sage looks great! I need to settle on the colour for the decals now;)

The frameset arrived last week - I have to tell you, even more amazing color in person than these pictures. Been wanting an OPEN for years, and SO glad I jumped in on this Hurry UP !!!

Now, the challenge of where to find parts to build it :)... seems the pandemic has lessened the stocks for groupsets from Shimano and SRAM. on the hunt (anyone have ideas please respond!) as itching to get this built up and get on the summer roads here in Oregon.

Great color. And If you want to get matchy, matchy you ride it with an Ornot House Jersey in Sage made right here in California. They make great kit — pairs perfectly with my WI.DE

An Italian paint job huh..? Sounds a little scary, but seriously; you should do an Italian-American premium build on this frame, with a little Slovenian spice on top!
@campagnolo EKAR @ENVE @Berk-composites
You are welcome..
