BOTM : "CALIFORNIA GRAPHITE" WIDE 2.0
Turquoise waters and graphite mountains
Our next BOTM (Bike Of The Month) is Court Leve's newly built OPEN WIDE 2.0, ready to tackle the amazing terrain around his hometown in the California mountains:
"When I decided on the WIDE 2.0 it was based on where I live and ride in the Lake Tahoe, CA area. We have endless gravel roads (1.000’s of miles) and great single track riding. I wanted a bike that could handle all kinds of terrain when not on my full suspension mountain bike. Being able to run such wide tires is amazing!!
I have dozens of trails less than 1 mile from my house and I can ride 10-25+ miles of mixed terrain straight from the house! The speed, quickness and comfort of this bike is unlike anything I’ve ever ridden before. This bike is really special to me- only folks like us can understand!"
New OPEN in the family
I got my first mountain bike in about 1989- a fully rigid bike of course. I had my WIDE 2.0 painted in a similar color to remind me of where trail riding started for me.
The technology and build quality of bikes have come so far since then, it’s truly amazing. This is my third OPEN, with the UP 1.0, WIDE 1.0 and now this WIDE 2.0. I could not be happier! The bike is simply amazing!
