BOTM: LIGHT WOLF's WIDE 2.0 X BESPOKED

Our third collabo with Light Wolf Studio

"This bike was built to honor our fourth presence (and third collaboration with OPEN) at the Bespoked Show: the 2024 UP 2.0 Concept as a prototype and the 2025 UP 2.0 as a production model. After an RTP and factory painting, we wanted to create something unique. Next was this WIDE 2.0.

Once we finished designing our booth with a 4.5x3m backdrop in a new colorway, we decided to request a matching paint job. Sina Kristin Warnke nailed the theme, and we were able to blend the bike into our booth.

The (light) build

With the help of several long-term partners, we aimed to showcase the new WIDE 2.0 concept to its fullest potential. With "light" embedded in the company's name, we always aim to demonstrate what's possible in terms of weight.

With the uncommon combination of an Shimano XTR rear derailleur, a 9-45T cassette, and Shimano Dura Ace STi shifters and rotors, we found a drivetrain as lightweight as a SRAM RED.

By combining this with a 300-gram crankset from Cybrei and a Gemini carbon chainring, we dropped about 250 grams compared to a GRX crankset.

Wheels are key!

We've been building custom wheels since we started wheelbuilding in 2009. In this case, we built a 1,000-gram wheel set with Duke's LuckyJack SLS5 rims, the newest hubs from WolfTooth, and fancy carbon spokes to minimize rotational weight.

On top of the rims, we chose 2.4" Pirelli Scorpion Race HR Lite tires, which have lower rolling resistance and weight than most narrow 45mm gravel tires.

By adding some carbon components from ProBikegear, we created a 7.5 kg (including cages and mounts, but not pedals) gravel bike with full tire size."
